About the event

FRAMED #92 THE SUMMER SPECIAL

MUSIC:  Wayne Show & Abase

Wayne Snow is an artist who continuously pushes beyond boundaries, shaping a sound that is bold, unpredictable, and deeply personal. Born in Nigeria and influenced by artists such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Adé, and Marvin Gaye, he blends elements of soul, jazz, alternative pop, and electronic music into a distinctive, genre-defying style.

Following the success of his debut album Freedom TV on Tartelet Records, Snow expanded his artistic reach through collaborations with FKJ, Tom Misch, Folamour, and Darius, among others. His 2021 album Figurine, released on Roche Musique, further established his voice, combining warm, soulful textures with a forward-looking vision of Afrofuturism.

Àbáse is the musical project of Hungarian producer and keyboardist Szabolcs Bognár, driven by a vision of unity through sound. Blending jazz with West African, Brazilian, hip-hop, and electronic influences, he creates a rich and rhythmic sonic landscape.

Following his debut releases, Àbáse continued to refine his distinctive style with the album Awakening (2024), released in collaboration with Analogue Foundation. His work moves fluidly between organic and electronic worlds, offering a contemporary, globally inspired approach to jazz.

Exhibition: THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS

In The Most Important Things, painter Lars Teichmann reflects on key moments in art history, particularly within painting itself. Presented as part of the Framed Berlin series, the exhibition draws from this rich visual tradition, with works that echo major pictorial genres of past centuries.

Guided by the idea that “there is no apolitical art,” Teichmann approaches painting as an open process. His subjects, still lifes, portraits, and monumental birds, act as subtle witnesses of our time. Without directly depicting contemporary events, they evoke themes of change, transience, conflict, and coexistence.

Through layered historical references, from classical portraiture to gestures of Neo-Expressionism, Teichmann’s works become mirrors of the present. Meaning emerges not only from what is shown, but from how it is read - through tone, context, and association.

Ultimately, the paintings speak in quiet, nuanced ways about what matters most: peace, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Selected works by Lars Teichmann from left to right: Pink Princess 200x160cm; Vases and fruits 4 200x270cm; Pollock birds 1 200x350cm; Classic Stillife-003 180x200cm; Pope after Raffaell I 200x160cm; Master Chief Fade series 200x165cm.
