ART EXHIBITION – Daniel Bonaudo-Ewinger
Daniel Bonaudo-Ewinger was born in 1986 in Germany. He lives and works in Kandel (Rheinland-Pfalz) and Berlin. Since 2021, he has been a Meisterschüler with Prof. Pia Linz. In 2020, he received a scholarship from the Stiftung Rheinland-Pfalz für Kultur. 2013-2018, he studied fine arts at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin with Prof. Pia Linz, Prof. Werner Liebmann, and Prof. Friederike Feldmann.
My artistic work is driven by an inner tension between the desire for transformation and a sense of being determined by my own social origins.
I take a seeking and open approach to painting, with the working process being direct and characterized by a continuous layering of oil paint. Throughout a longer period of time, repeating brush strokes are condensed into a flickering surface. Any figurative determination is covered up until all borderlines have been completely dissolved.
My intuitive way of painting, which does not require a compositional concept, is driven through the painting process by the preoccupation with concrete socio-political and biographical issues until I achieve what I consider to be a consistent condition.
